Windows 8 Winsock Reset to Get Connected

Solution
If you're banging your head against a wall trying to get a student with a Windows laptop to connect to the Internet and nothing seems to work, try resetting the winsock protocol.

Details and an explanation are in this link:

In a nutshell, type CMD in the search bar in the start menu and right-click on the program that pops up and select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.  Then type the following command into the command prompt window that pops up:
netsh winsock reset

This trick has worked for me in the past with computers that just would not connect to the Internet.
